We have been big fans of the line SanDisk in recent years and now, the wizards add a flash and I now midranger the first official pics.
The Sansa “rocket”, as Amazon accidentally leaks today is indeed a flash drive, 4 GB designed to address the iPod nano. It has a 1.9in screen, a microSD memory card expansion slot, microphone and FM tuner.
For the first time, these photos show that the rocket will be available in pink, blue, black, silver and red when it is sold for $ 99.99 (around £ 50) - there is a slight increase in the UK Uni PVR.
Now, an important aside here: I am a big fan Sansa but it is a bit odd move. After all, I thought that the Sansa View has done a fantastic job of sticking to the iPod nano - it was better in almost all areas - and Jon thought too for our consideration. That was it, all that is done and dusted.
It is therefore somewhat surprised to see the Fuze since SanDisk already has its nano drummer / challenger. In addition, while the RRP £ 59.99 (I estimate to be here-British taxes) is an excellent value rather than overlap closely with the entry level 8GB Sansa View.
The display can be found online now at £ 85 and £ 25 for a premium, you get twice the memory, more elegant, more big-screen video playback QVGA 30fps and a brilliant management of the autonomy of Battery 35 hours of continuous music or reading Sept hours for video. I know that I would buy one … Even if I was short of a quid or two.
Yet SanDisk could be here - the gap between the excellent clip (£ 29.99) and View is still £ 50 and - while Apple may not see the need for something between the shuffle and the nano - can be a batch number. But I think that the main reason for the rocket is more behind the fact that the flash is not a specialist in competition in the hard disk space with the iPod classic and (I suppose) are not yet available technology in place to create a rival To reach the iPod.
Therefore, I understand his desire not to stand still, but with the Sansa line now containing the clip, Express, Fuze View and it becomes powerful crammed in there.
Updated: 2 GB to 8 GB models available and the player is now official.
Update 2: Now I am even more confused. Price (read: there will be more here) are $ 79.99 (£ 40), $ 99.99 (50), and $ 129.99 (£ 65) for 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB editions , respectively. The entry leveller surely cut into sales 2GB Clip (£ 29.99), while the 8GB Fuze will probably cost in £ 10 online 8GB See prices. I said it was becoming powerful croweded there ….
