If there is a manufacturer capable of a notebook as desirable for the Sony Vaio TX, Lenovo is likely. We have already seen the ThinkPad X300 (review coming soon), what appears to be a TR preferred, and now JR.com American retailer has spilled the beans prematurely on IdeaPad U110B - a notebook with a 11.1in similar to Sony Phares ultra-portable.
The screen sports a 11.1in “WXGA” resolution which would hopefully say 1366 x 768, but because of the ambiguity of the label, it might be 1280 x 800 - the first is the more likely if the candidates. Inside, a 1.6GHz low-voltage L7500 with 3GB DDR2 RAM and a 120GB hard drive.
Show U110 at least directly to a user inclination, Lenovo has incorporated tactile control multimedia, and Dolby Home Theatre. Coupled with the bright screen that should make the notebook enough power to watch films. The lack of an internal DVD player, though, as appropriate, these means must be digital copies or a USB key will be required - extra battery juice dripping.
Weight of the sage-U110 is listed as on 3lb (ish-1, 35 kg) with a battery, which is not too dissimilar to both the Sony Vaio TX U2E and Asus. However, those that correspond to the size of weight while adjusting a DVD player in the chassis. Couple that with the $ 1999 (1000 € HT), the U110 is apparently the cost and Lenovo does not seem quite so attractive. Yet until the official prices and release dates were announced we reserve final judgement.
