It seems almost inevitable, in the weeks following the unveiling of Air MacBook for a slew of leaks to the surface of various companies detailing their rivals at the last offer from
Dubbed the X300, it is, curiously, a 13.3in screen-packing, rather thin, 2.5 pounds (1.13 kg ~) in a form factor while the MacBook for not anorexic proportions is nevertheless described as “extremely thin. ” Of course, just because the MacBook can not be beaten in terms of thinness does not mean that it could not have returned to his proverbial it on a plate in all other respects. Namely, we find the display has a resolution of 1440 x 900, the processor is a 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo 2 and up to 4 GB DDR2 RAM can be fitted.
As with the MacBook DSS 64 GB can be specified, but unlike the MacBook there are three USB ports and a Gigabit Ethernet port - in spite of it ‘clear’ futility.
Lenovo also make the bill WWAN and WiMAX connectivity, GPS and an expansion bay that will accept either a DVD player, secondary batteries or ExpressCard slot.
The availability is not yet known but is expected to be before the end of the second half of this year, and as you can imagine for an early leak no pricing is known. For those of us who value function over pure form this could pose an attractive alternative to the latest Apple spawn.
