
Microsoft has launched a new software tool called Save as XML DAISY an add-in. The latest software is designed for Microsoft Office Word 2007, Word 2003 and Word XP, and will allow users to save Open XML-based text files in XML format DAISY, the foundation of the globally accepted standard for reading DAISY and publishing multimedia content waterways.
The daisy XML add-in software is developed by an open source project with Microsoft, Sonata Software Ltd and the Digital Accessible Information System (DAISY) Consortium.
Microsoft Office Word users can download the DAISY XML add-in for free software to http://www.openxmlcommunity.org/daisy.
Also, the new version of pipeline DAISY is published today. The pipeline DAISY supports seamless conversion of XML DAISY DAISY Digital Talking Book (DTB). Combined together, they can provide a complete solution for converting text documents in accessible formats for people unable to read printed or visual impairment.
