Canon PIXMA range of multifunction printers are well made and have good features, but most of them are aimed at fans of digital photography, using six black ink and a second to deliver photo quality prints and speed printing on plain paper.

These printers are in the range MP, but there is a parallel range MX, too, with a slightly different emphasis. The MX four color printers, again with a second black, are aimed at the SOHO market, but they will still make a good attempt at a photo.

This PIXMA MX850 is the high-end and the second offers almost everything you would expect from an inkjet all-in-one. It is a big impression, especially in its depth, its footprint is close to the desktop space. It is stylish silver and black, with a nicely integrated Auto Document Feeder (ADF) on top. There is a 150 sheet paper tray at the rear and a paper cassette in the same capacity in slots below. The two paper trays can take media 15 x 10 cm up to A4, the provision of food flexible and simple paper for photo paper.
