Samsung introduced the first “Blue” The LCD panel. The development of new offers more natural moving images with an image unprecedented speed of 240 Hertz.

Unlike most LCD panels, the Blue phase does not require the alignment of liquid crystal layers. This new phase Blue mode is capable of doing its own layers of alignment and, therefore, eliminates the need for a mechanical alignment and friction.

Samsung plans to unveil a 15-inch model Blue Phase LCD panel at the SID (Society for Information Display) 2008 International Symposium.

In addition, Blue Phase panels reduce the possibility of bruising the LCD interface resulting in uniform brightness.

Executive Vice President Souk Jun-hyung, the head of the company LCD “Show Centre R & D said:” Our way of the blue phase is a major evolution beyond conventional liquid crystal display modes. Samsung’s development of Technology provides a tremendous opportunity to image quality of LCD screens much closer to that of a true moving image. ”

In addition, Samsung has argued that overdrive circuits are currently applied to each LCD panel to improve the image quality video premium LCD TVs, which are leading to 120Hz.

Samsung will begin mass production of LCD Blue Phase in 2011.
