
Sanyo has launched the digital camcorder named Xacti DMX-CA8. A waterproof body is the most important characteristic of the Xacti CA8.
The Xacti CA8 has a 2.5 “TFT color LCD display, 5x optical zoom, digital image stabilizer and a built in memory of 44MB with up to 32 GB SD memory card slot.
The HR-TV mode is the highest of the five shooting modes which delivers a video image of VGA resolution of 640 × 480 pixels and a flow rate of 6Mbps. Although the function of early detection face is able to recognize four people in a shot and focuses on their faces.
The CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensor runs faster than the CCD (charge couple device) image sensor. Thus users will be able to capture video at 60fps. The camera also supports the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 for video files.
The 8-megapixel camera is able to capture still images at 4000 x 3000 pixels resolution.
The Xacti CA8 measures 111×40 × 70 mm and weighs 239g. In addition, the device is capable of providing 205 coups still image or 75 minutes of continuous video shooting in a single battery charge.
The Xacti CA8 camera is available for 50000 yen on the Japanese market.
