Western Digital has launched the Velociraptor hard drives on the Indian market. The new version is the successor to its 10000 RPM SATA “Raptor” series of discs. They offer a 35 percent increase in performance and are packed with twice the capacity.

It has a capacity of 300 GB and is therefore in a 2.5-inch form factor enterprise. The 2.5-inch WD Velociraptor is included in the icepack, 3.5 inches assembly with an integrated framework of heat sink. The icepack keeps the reader cool.

Velociraptor disks have a SATA 3 Gb / s interface, and 16 MB cache deliver mind bending. Readers are manufactured in high reliable cycle environments. The design of results at the highest available reliability rating of any SATA disk to 1.4 million hours MTBF.
